Visiting Auckland for the first time

It was a long 6-hour journey to Auckland, but the sprawling city soon filled the view and it felt like a jigsaw as the coach made its way into the…

Adventuring in Rotorura

It took about an hour to get from Taupo to Rotorua, which is one of the shorter journey’s I’ve made since starting my travels in the country. The first thing…

Heading north to Taupo

Just a few weeks after getting back to Wellington, and debating my next move, I made it and decided to go home. Since then, I’ve been going at it full…

Saying goodbye to Wellington

When I got to Wellington in November 2019, I never imagined that I’d stay for a full year – at least, not at that point in time. I knew early…

There and back again; visiting Waikato

It’s been a while between Dunedin and Milford Sound and my next trip away from Wellington, but that gap felt a lot longer than it actually was. Part of that…

I finally made it to #CapeReinga, the most northern point of the country, where the #TasmanSea meets the #PacificOcean. We stopped at #TapotupotuBeach for lunch before driving down the #90MileBeach - but not before some #sandboarding, where I totally didn't wipe out 🙄 #Aotearoa #NewZealand #NorthIsland #tour #DuneRider #beach #coast #backpacker #backpackerlife #travel #travelgram
One of the must visit places while in #Paihia is the #WaitangiTreatyGrounds, which is just a short walk away. There's so much history here, on the site where the treaty was drafted and first signed. Combine a #guidedtour with a #traditional cultural performance for an amazing #experience. I finished the day with a walk to the #HaruruFalls, as who doesn't like a #waterfall? #Aotearoa #NewZealand #NorthIsland #BayofIslands #WaitangiTreaty #Maoriwelcome #Maoriceremony #history #backpacker #backpackerlife #travel #travelgram
Today was awesome. I went on a tour of a part of the #BayofIslands to see the #HoleintheRock, as well as stopping off at #OteheiBay. Then I explored #Russel, making it up to #FlagstaffHill and finally #TapekaPoint for more stunning #views! #Aotearoa #NewZealand #NorthIsland #backpacker #backpackerlife #travel #travelgram
Took a walk up to #MtEden for #sunset and got this stunning view of #Auckland. Well worth the trek and a great way to cap off the end of my first stint here. I'll be back soon! #Aotearoa #NewZealand #NorthIsland #Aucklandcity #backpacker #backpackerlife #travel #travelgram
Today I took a #ferry to #RangitotoIsland and climbed to #rangitotosummit, stopping at the #RangitotoLavaCaves for a spooky little #diversion. Those #views are amazing and you can see #Aucklandcity in the distance and close up on the trip back! #Aotearoa #NewZealand #NorthIsland #Auckland #Rangitoto #island #lavacaves #backpacker #backpackerlife #travel #travelgram
Well, #Auckland, you don't half scrub up at #night, eh? #Aucklandcity #aucklandwaterfront #Skytower #AucklandSkytower #Aucklandatnight #Aotearoa #NewZealand #NorthIsland #backpacker #backpackerlife #travel #travelgram
