Back to Melbourne…Again

Between leaving Sydney and arriving in Wellington, I had close to a week in Melbourne. In case you’ve forgotten, I spent a year in Melbourne, not including the times before…

Saying goodbye to Sydney

So, I got a bit distracted by work and plans and changing plans that I haven’t blogged for a while. Shock, horror! I mentioned last time out that I was…

Finding my feet in Sydney

So, after having no luck finding work in Darwin or Brisbane (although I did come close in the former), I came to Sydney primarily to save money. How, you ask,…

Returning to Brisbane

Brisbane was always one of those ‘what if’ cities for me. I spent two days here on my East Coast adventure last year but it didn’t feel like enough. That…

Three weeks in Darwin

I like to think I’ve been pretty honest about this trip since it started. I’ve shown you the good and the bad, even though it’s mostly been good. I was…

After a couple of #stormy days, the #sun returned and I managed to get out for a walk to see #HaruruFalls again. More #water this time for a more dramatic effect #Aotearoa #NewZealand #NorthIsland #Paihia #Waitangi #backpacker #backpackerlife #travel #travelgram #waterfall
I finally made it to #CapeReinga, the most northern point of the country, where the #TasmanSea meets the #PacificOcean. We stopped at #TapotupotuBeach for lunch before driving down the #90MileBeach - but not before some #sandboarding, where I totally didn't wipe out 🙄 #Aotearoa #NewZealand #NorthIsland #tour #DuneRider #beach #coast #backpacker #backpackerlife #travel #travelgram
One of the must visit places while in #Paihia is the #WaitangiTreatyGrounds, which is just a short walk away. There's so much history here, on the site where the treaty was drafted and first signed. Combine a #guidedtour with a #traditional cultural performance for an amazing #experience. I finished the day with a walk to the #HaruruFalls, as who doesn't like a #waterfall? #Aotearoa #NewZealand #NorthIsland #BayofIslands #WaitangiTreaty #Maoriwelcome #Maoriceremony #history #backpacker #backpackerlife #travel #travelgram
Today was awesome. I went on a tour of a part of the #BayofIslands to see the #HoleintheRock, as well as stopping off at #OteheiBay. Then I explored #Russel, making it up to #FlagstaffHill and finally #TapekaPoint for more stunning #views! #Aotearoa #NewZealand #NorthIsland #backpacker #backpackerlife #travel #travelgram
Took a walk up to #MtEden for #sunset and got this stunning view of #Auckland. Well worth the trek and a great way to cap off the end of my first stint here. I'll be back soon! #Aotearoa #NewZealand #NorthIsland #Aucklandcity #backpacker #backpackerlife #travel #travelgram
Today I took a #ferry to #RangitotoIsland and climbed to #rangitotosummit, stopping at the #RangitotoLavaCaves for a spooky little #diversion. Those #views are amazing and you can see #Aucklandcity in the distance and close up on the trip back! #Aotearoa #NewZealand #NorthIsland #Auckland #Rangitoto #island #lavacaves #backpacker #backpackerlife #travel #travelgram
